October 29, 2020A man stabbed a guard at the French consulate in Jeddah, a port city on the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia and was later arrested.

This was reported by al-Arabiya, citing in turn the official Saudi press agency.



The news comes after a man killed three people in a church in Nice, France, and after various leaders of the Arab world lashed out at President Emmanuel Macron for his defense of freedom of expression and secular values. 



The note from the Saudi news agency, citing police spokesman Mohammed al-Ghamdi, said that the special diplomatic security forces managed to arrest the perpetrator of the attack.

He is said to be a Saudi citizen and in his 40s.



The injured guard was taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to the embassy, ​​the injured guard is not in danger of life.
