The ecological environment of the Yangtze River waters, in accordance with the Fisheries Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Strengthening the Protection of the Yangtze River’s Aquatic Organisms (Guobanfa [2018] No. 95) and the General Office of the State Council on Effectively Properly Prohibiting Fishing in the Yangtze River Basin The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs decided to extend the ban on catching in the Jiangkou and strengthen the management of the ban on catching in the Yangtze River.

The ban on catching in the Yangtze River estuary is determined to be a frame-shaped zone formed by longitude 122°15' east, latitude 31°41'36" north latitude and 30°54' north latitude, and is bounded by the water-land boundary to the west.

  The "Draft for Comments" clearly banned the fishing season.

The waters of the aquatic life reserve within the Yangtze Estuary ban will be permanently banned; waters outside the aquatic life reserve will be implemented at 0:00 on January 1, 2021. The same management measures for bans will be implemented in the key waters of the Yangtze River.

In accordance with the "Fisheries Law of the People's Republic of China" on prohibited fishing areas and fishing periods, the waters within the prohibited fishing area of ​​the Yangtze River estuary prohibit the productive fishing of natural fishery resources, and stop the distribution of saury (Yangtze saury) and anchovy (anchovies) , Chinese mitten crab (river crab) and eel fry special (chartered) fishing license.

In the above-mentioned restricted fishing zone, for special needs such as scientific research, monitoring, breeding, etc., special permission must be obtained from the provincial fishery administrative department.

  In the waters adjacent to the above-mentioned prohibited fishing areas, the relevant provincial fishery administrative departments shall, in accordance with resource conditions and management needs, adjust and reduce the scale of the issuance of special productive (concession) fishing licenses for the above-mentioned resources in a timely manner, and strengthen the fishing of other marine fishery resources. Standardize production management, clean up and ban all kinds of illegal fishing activities, and avoid adverse effects on the management and protection of the Yangtze River ban.
