Six explosions in three churches celebrating Easter Mass and three upscale hotels left at least 42 dead and dozens wounded on Sunday in Sri Lanka.

Six explosions occurred Sunday in three hotels and three churches in Sri Lanka where Easter Mass was celebrated, leaving at least 42 dead and dozens wounded, police and hospital sources said. "Eighty people have been admitted and more are arriving," said an official of the National Hospital of Colombo on condition of anonymity.

"Come help us". Police said a total of six explosions had been reported, in three high-end hotels and a church in Colombo, as well as in two other churches near the capital. One of the churches is in Negombo, north of Colombo. "Attack against our church, please help us if any of your family members are there," reads a message in English posted to the Facebook account of St. Sebastian Church in Katuwapitiya in Negombo. The third church is in the east of the island.
