Three men violently attacked a student on Wednesday evening in Saint-Martin-d'Hères, Isère, leaving the young man seriously injured. If his vital prognosis "is no longer engaged" according to the prosecutor of Grenoble, the victim suffers from a fracture to the skull, according to a police source.

A student was seriously injured Wednesday night by three men who beat him in Saint-Martin-d'Hères, near Grenoble (Isère), reported the local prosecutor's office, announcing the arrest of two suspects. According to a police source, the victim suffers from a fracture to the skull. The prosecutor also announced the arrest "around 2:30 am" of "two minors of 17 years of Romanian nationality likely to be involved in this violence". A third remains on the run.

The motives for the attack unknown

The magistrate could not specify the reasons for the attack, which occurred during the day and in the street in this commune in the south-eastern suburbs of Grenoble. According to the prosecutor's office, the victim is unknown to the police and justice services. "This is a student very recently settled in the agglomeration." The prosecutor's office said it had entrusted the investigation to the police of the departmental security of Grenoble, calling on possible witnesses to report to the police.
