The mother of the five-year-old girl found dead in a bag speaks for the first time to journalists this Wednesday in front of her house in Rambervillers, in the Vosges. She confirmed that she had alerted the police on Tuesday after finding her child missing and is demanding justice.

"I am destroyed," said Wednesday morning the mother of the five-year-old girl whose lifeless body was discovered the day before in Rambervillers (Vosges), while a teenager was placed in custody.

"It's too painful, it doesn't work," the black-haired woman said, tearfully speaking to reporters outside her home in a town of 5,000.

"I want justice to be done"

A teenager, aged 15 or 16 according to the mayor of the city, was arrested. According to the local daily Vosges Matin, the young man suffered from psychiatric disorders and had left "a few weeks ago" from a specialized structure. "They say two weeks ago he was locked up in a psychiatric hospital. Why did they let him out?" said the victim's mother.

"I want justice to be done and the sick no longer left outside, because they do not destroy a single life, they destroy the life of the whole family," the Romanian-born woman added. "They destroyed my own life, all my memories with my daughter, all my plans, they took everything away from me," she added. "They kidnapped my little princess."

"I don't want us to leave people like that outside anymore." She confirmed that she had alerted the police early Tuesday afternoon after finding the disappearance of her child, who was playing in front of the house. According to a source close to the investigation, the teenager was arrested in the apartment where the girl's body was found.
