“A meeting of the Presidium of the Scientific and Technical Council was held ... The Council approved the decision to extend the operation of the Russian segment of the ISS until 2028,” the state corporation said in a statement. 

Earlier, Vladimir Solovyov, General Designer for Manned Complexes and Systems of RSC Energia, said that over the past two years, Russian specialists have carried out serious work to repair and retrofit the Russian segment of the ISS in order to extend its operation until 2028.

Solovyov added that the continued use of the ISS until 2028 will require financial resources.
