The prosecutor of Metz announced this Friday the indictment for sexual assault of a gynecologist from the city of Moselle.
The man was placed under judicial supervision.
The charges against him took place between 2014 and 2022.
A Metz gynecologist has been indicted for sexual assault after complaints from several of his patients, the Metz prosecutor said on Tuesday.
"A gynecologist from Metz was indicted on February 3 for sexual assault and violence allegedly committed between 2014 and 2022 in the context of his professional activity," Metz prosecutor Yves Badorc told AFP.
“He was placed under judicial control with a ban on contacting the complainants,” continued the magistrate.
The doctor, who disputes the alleged facts, is not subject to a ban on the exercise of his profession.
His lawyer, Me Guillaume Royer, explained in the newspaper Le Républicain Lorrain that his client is accused of "breast palpations which are partially not formal".
Contacted by AFP, the board declined to comment further.
