February last year, a 3-year-old girl was found with a cold body in a studio in Gumi.

It turned out that she had died of starvation after being left alone, but as a result of DNA analysis, her maternal grandmother, 50-year-old Seok-mo, who lived downstairs, appeared as her birth mother, which shocked her.

Prosecutors charged that Seok switched her granddaughter, who was born around the same time, at the hospital to keep her daughter, whom she gave birth to after an affair, and tried to hide her body when she died neglected.

Both the first and second trials were found guilty and sentenced to eight years in prison, but the Supreme Court returned the case to the Daegu District Court for lack of evidence.

After a six-month trial, the final result came out, and he was acquitted of the charge of "abduction of minors" for exchanging children.

The court judged that it was difficult to see that Mr. Seok gave birth to her child and switched her child at the hospital only with the results of DNA analysis that establishes paternity.

Mr. Seok's lawyer also said that the evidence presented by the prosecution was poor, and that it was difficult to prove whether he had actually given birth given the fact that he re-entered the factory right at the time of the estimated birth.

The Daegu District Court found Seok guilty only for trying to hide the body and sentenced him to 2 years in prison and 3 years probation.

Seok, who was arrested in March of last year, was released after two years, but the mystery of the death of a three-year-old girl is still unsolved.
