A man in his 80s is under police investigation for making an extreme choice after killing his wife who had suffered a stroke for years.

This man, who is suffering from terminal colon cancer, was found to have done this because he was pessimistic about his sick wife and himself.



Today (2nd), the Wansan Police Station in Jeonju, Jeonbuk Province, announced that it was investigating the arrest of Mr. A in his 80s for the murder of his wife.



Mr. A is suspected of murdering his wife in her 80s who suffered a stroke at her home in Namnosong-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju at around 8:45 pm the previous day.



It was investigated that Mr. A called his son immediately after the crime and tried to make an extreme choice after telling him about the crime.



The police, who were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report from his son, moved Mr. A to a nearby hospital after providing emergency relief.



A suicide note written by Mr. A was found in the master bedroom of the house where his wife was hiding.



It was found that the will contained pessimistic statements such as "(I) cannot take good care of my wife who has a stroke because I have terminal colon cancer."



It is also known that 'I do not want to be a burden to the children left behind'.



A police official said, "Mr. A is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment."
