Today (1st) at around 6:50 am, the fire at the textile factory in the Seongseo Industrial Complex in Igok-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu City was completely extinguished in about 4 hours.
The fire authorities issued the first level of response at around 7:05 in the morning, and at 7:29, they upgraded to the second level of response and started to evolve.
The fire department mobilized more than 200 manpower, 70 vehicles, and 3 helicopters to extinguish the fire. After catching a big fire at 8:45 am, it was completely extinguished at 11:14 am, about 4 hours after the fire broke out.
There was one employee in the factory where the fire started, but they were evacuated quickly and there were no casualties.
The fire spread to nearby bedding factories, and it was investigated that 3 buildings of 2 factories (textile factory 2,790㎡ · bedding factory 2,481㎡) were damaged so far.
It is known that there are textile fabrics that are easy to catch fire inside the factory, and the fire department had great difficulty extinguishing as the building collapsed.
The police and fire authorities believe that the fire started in the air conditioner in the textile factory.
As soon as the site is cleaned up, we plan to investigate the circumstances of the fire and the exact scale of property damage.
