A 20-year-old man who was handed over to trial was sentenced to prison for requesting and receiving photos of his body from an elementary school student. 



Today (1st), the 1st Criminal Division of the Cheonan Branch of the Daejeon District Court (Presiding Judge Seo Jeon-gyo) is investigating Mr. A (22), who was indicted without detention on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Adolescents (Producing and distributing sexual exploitation, etc.) He was sentenced to three years in prison. 



He was also ordered to attend an 80-hour sexual violence treatment program and to restrict employment in child and youth-related organizations for five years. 



Mr. A was handed over to trial on charges of receiving photos and videos of the victim 10 times in June of last year by asking for body photos from an elementary school student he met in an open social media chat room. 



Mr. A claimed that it was done by agreement, but the court did not accept it.



The judge said, “Even though we know that the victim is very young, we are concerned about the healthy growth of the victim because we are sent a picture that will cause sexual shame.” “He explained the reason for the sentencing. 



On the other hand, according to the Act on the Protection of Sexuality of Children and Adolescents (Youth Sexuality Protection Act), from September of last year, sexual desire, shame, or disgust for the purpose of sexually exploiting children or adolescents online is prohibited, even if they do not receive a video or meet in person. Continuing a provoking conversation, inducing a sexual act, or even a conversation itself can result in imprisonment for up to 3 years or a fine of up to 30 million won.
