The Ministry of Personnel Innovation decided to take a preemptive step in reforming the public servants pension.

Kim Seung-ho, head of the personnel department, reported this year's work plan to President Yoon Seok-yeol today (27th).

In a briefing, Director Kim said, "In line with the pension reform, one of the three reform tasks of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, we will advance the financial calculation of the civil servants pension, originally planned for 2025, and start early this year."

He added that he would support reform discussions based on scientific research and social consensus in a responsible manner, such as participating in the National Assembly's special committee on pension reform.

Separately, measures to support childbirth and childrearing will be prepared to overcome the ultra-low birth rate crisis of a total fertility rate of 0.81 (by 2021).

For public officials raising three or more children, preferential treatment in personnel management will be strengthened, and measures will be introduced, such as allowing transfer even if the required period of service is not fulfilled if necessary for raising children.

Starting with the second child, we decided to consider introducing a measure that includes all parental leave periods in the pay raise period.

'Psychological stability leave' will also be established to protect field officials in charge of dealing with disasters, such as disastrous incidents and accidents.

In addition, a 'long-term performance bonus' will be created as a bonus given to public officials who have received the highest performance rating for more than three years.

The tenure requirement for a special promotion to raise the first salary to public officials with excellent performance will be reduced from three years to two years.
