Haeinsa Temple in Hapcheon, South Gyeongsang Province, which houses the Tripitaka Koreana, a national treasure, is once again in trouble.

Following the allegations of sex scandal with the chief priest, it was claimed that this time, a game of yut with a large amount of money was staked.

The Emergency Response Committee for the Normalization of Haeinsa Temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism claimed in a press release that "adult monks in the Seonwon waged a game of Yut with an amount equivalent to 10 million won."

Then, they urged the monk Moh, who led the yut board, to be expelled from the temple and immediately investigated those responsible for allowing it.

Regarding this, Haeinsa explained, "It is a traditional custom for monks to play Yut during the holidays," and that "the amount is at the level of donations."

Meanwhile, Haeinsa recently published a statement of condolence regarding the controversy surrounding the sexual scandal of the head monk Hyeoneung.
