Prosecutor's Office investigating 'epileptic conscription corruption' arrested and indicted another broker, Mr. Kim.



Seoul Southern District Prosecutor's Office 5th Criminal Division (Chief Prosecutor Park Eun-hye) announced today (26th) that a total of 22 people, including Mr. Kim, a military service broker, evaded military service, and 6 accomplices, including their parents or acquaintances, were indicted on charges of violating the Military Service Act. .



Arrested on the 9th, Mr. Kim opened an Internet military service counseling cafe to attract clients and promised, "If you pretend to be an epileptic patient according to the scenario I gave you, I will exempt you from military service" and received a total of 206.1 million won in the name of consulting fees. It was revealed as a result of the prosecution's investigation that he received and took care of it.



In particular, among those who evaded it, it was found that current doctors, golf players, and coaches from former professional gamers were included.



According to the scenario provided by Mr. Kim, they received a false epilepsy diagnosis, drug prescription, and medical records issued by the hospital and submitted them to the Military Manpower Administration to receive exemption from military service.



Previously, on the 21st of last month, the prosecution had also arrested and indicted a broker, an administrative officer, who is accused of the same as Mr. Kim.



Prosecutors said, "Devasion of military service is a serious crime that hinders fairness and integration in our society along with irregularities in the entrance exam," and announced that it will continue to investigate Gu, Kim, and many other evaders.
