As strong winds blew amid cold waves and heavy snowfall in the Jeju area, all flights at Jeju Airport were completely suspended and passenger ship operations were also controlled.



The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (Critical Response) announced that as of 11:00 am on the 24th, the operation of 113 passenger ships on 86 routes, including Baengnyeong-Incheon, Pohang-Ulsan, and Gunsan-Eocheongdo, was controlled by storms.



In Jeju Island, both sea and air routes have been cut off.



According to the Jeju Regional Aviation Administration, a total of 466 flights, including 233 departure and 233 arrival flights, were all canceled from Jeju Airport today.



Due to the heavy snow, 137 trails in 6 national parks, including Naejangsan, Dadohae, and Mudeungsan, were controlled, and 7 roads in Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Jeju were also controlled.



Due to the strongest cold wave this winter, there have been 14 cases of freezing and bursting of meters nationwide.



While cold wave warnings are in effect nationwide, cold weather that is 10 to 15 degrees lower than normal is expected to continue until tomorrow.



The weather is expected to rise from tomorrow afternoon and recover to normal temperatures on the 26th.



A heavy snow warning is in effect around the west coast of Jeolla, but today it is expected that snow will fall mainly on the west coast of Chungnam, the interior of northern Chungnam, and Jeolla and Jeju regions.
