Recharging your electric car at home while saving electricity is the objective of the Renault manufacturer and the Atomic Energy Commission, which have just announced the release, in 2027, of a new generation of chargers.

Their specificity?

They will also be able to inject electricity into the house.

Electric cars are becoming more and more part of our daily lives and we will soon be able to recharge them at home while saving money on the bill.

Renault and the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) have just announced a new generation of chargers that inject electricity into the network.

"Balancing the Power Grid"

Earning money thanks to your electric car will perhaps be a daily gesture in 2030, with the arrival of a bidirectional charger, that is to say capable of receiving electricity but also of distribute it.

Clearly, you charge when there is a lot of electricity available, for example at night, and reinject it into the network or into your home when there are needs, for example in the evening around 7 p.m.

Among the most successful projects: a more compact and above all more efficient charger, the result of research between the CEA and Renault, which will see the light of day in 2027. "With the proliferation of vehicles, we will go all-electric in 2035. These are storage capacities which will multiply and which will allow them to be used to balance the electrical network", explains Jean-François Salessy, head of advanced technologies for the manufacturer.

Many experiments already exist.

In the United States, for example, Ford pickups have already fueled broken homes after hurricanes or during a snowstorm.
