This Thursday morning, a 27-year-old adult and a two-year-old boy died in Caen in a fire in an apartment building.

The intervention mobilized 42 firefighters as well as the national police and SMUR services.

Four other people were taken to hospital. 

An adult and a "toddler" died this Thursday morning in Caen in the fire of an apartment building, we learned from the firefighters.

, it is a two-year-old boy and his 27-year-old aunt.

Asked by AFP, the Caen prosecutor's office had not confirmed the identity of the victims on Thursday afternoon.

The fire broke out shortly before 9 a.m. in a building with four apartments.

42 firefighters mobilized

"When we arrived, the fire was in full development, four people had left before the arrival of help, three adults and a child, transported by our services" to the hospital in a state of shock and suffering from minor injuries, indicated the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS) of Calvados.

The child and the adult were both missing and had died when rescuers found them.
