A 20-year-old academy instructor was sentenced to four years in prison for approaching a teenage student who was emotionally unstable due to the death of her mother, raping her dozens of times and even threatening with a weapon.

The 11th Criminal Division of the Daejeon District Court (Presiding Judge Park Heon-haeng) announced today (18th) that it sentenced A (28), who was charged with forcibly molesting a minor, to four years in prison.

In addition, it was also ordered to complete a sexual violence treatment program for 40 hours and to restrict employment for 10 years at child and youth related institutions and facilities for the disabled.

Mr. A is accused of sexually assaulting Miss B (14), whom she taught in June of last year, taking advantage of a mentally confused situation due to her mother's extreme choice, and sexually assaulting her 66 times by July of last year.

In addition, Miss B is accused of assaulting her friend several times for secretly contacting her friend, bringing her to his house, and threatening her with a weapon.

In order to cover up her crime, she thoroughly controlled Ms. B's friendship.

The academy, noticing the suspicious feeling, recommended Mr. A to resign, but Mr. A rather persuaded Ms. B's father to work as a private tutor and continue the harassment.

The first trial court sentenced him to four years in prison, saying, "The quality of the crime is very poor, such as committing a long-term crime against a victim who forgets his responsibility as a teacher and rather uses his position to fully exercise his right to sexual self-determination."
