The police are seizing and searching the construction unions of the two major trade unions in relation to illegal activities at the construction site.



The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Violent Crime Investigation Unit has been sending investigators to 5 offices of the KCTU construction union and 3 offices of the construction industry union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions from 8:10 am today (19th) to secure investigation data.



The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions’ offices in the Seoul-Gyeonggi Northern Branch, Southwest Zone, Northwest Zone, Southeast Zone, and Northeast Zone, and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions’ Seoul-Gyeonggi 1 and 2 Branches, and the Rebar Business Group’s Seoul-Gyeonggi Branch, 8 offices in Seoul were included in the search target. That's it.



The police are also executing search warrants by sending investigators to the eight residences of these union officials.



The police are known to have launched an investigation after obtaining intelligence that these unions have committed illegal acts, such as forcing them to hire a specific person or demanding money or valuables under the pretext of hiring them.
