An arrest warrant has been requested for Kim Seong-tae, former chairman of Ssangbangwool Group, who was repatriated to Korea after 8 months of escape.



Detective Division 6 of the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Young-nam) announced that it requested an arrest warrant for former chairman Kim on charges of breach of trust, embezzlement, and bribery at around 0:40 today (19th).



An arrest warrant was also requested for Yang Seon-gil, chairman of Ssangbangwool Group, who was repatriated with former chairman Kim to Korea, on charges of embezzlement of company funds in collusion with former chairman Kim.



The prosecution executed an arrest warrant on the plane that Kim was on at around 2:40 am the day before yesterday (17th) and continued an intensive investigation from the first day he was brought to the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office.



The arrest warrant examination for former chairman Kim is scheduled to be held at 2:30 pm today.



Previously, former chairman Kim said that he would give up participating in the detention warrant review in order to faithfully receive the prosecution's investigation.



The court will decide whether to issue a warrant this evening or tomorrow (20th) early morning.
