A Korean-Chinese citizen has been sentenced to prison for stabbing and killing a co-worker who belittles and gossips Chinese people.

The 11th Criminal Division of the Ulsan District Court (Presiding Judge Park Hyeon-bae) announced today (18th) that it sentenced a Korean-Chinese A, who was charged with attempted murder, to 4 years and 6 months in prison.

In June of last year, Mr. A was handed over to trial on charges of injuring his colleague, Mr. B, in his 50s, several times with a weapon in the parking lot of a restaurant in Nam-gu, Ulsan.

At the time, Mr. A was outraged by Mr. B's demeaning of China and the Chinese, his country, while having a dinner with about 10 of his co-workers.

Mr. A is a foreign worker who works in Korea after receiving a visiting work visa.

The judge explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The crime is bad, considering that Mr. A's crime put Mr. B in a dangerous situation to the point where he became unconscious." .
