A water supply pipe in Hongje-dong, Seoul was ruptured, and the city started emergency restoration, but the restoration is delayed as the work is prolonged.

According to the Seoul Waterworks Headquarters, restoration is delayed due to the inability to install detour pipes, and water has been cut off for 300 nearby households from 7:00 a.m. for restoration work.

Shutdown is scheduled until 2:00 p.m., but may change depending on site conditions, the city of Seoul said.

Today (14th) around 8 am, the water supply pipe at the five-way intersection of Wangsimni Station in Seongdong-gu, Seoul was ruptured, and some roads and sidewalks were flooded.

According to the Seongdong-gu Office, the Seoul Waterworks Headquarters cut off water around 8:30 am and began emergency restoration work.

Because of this, water supply to 40 households, including multi-family houses and villas, was cut off.

A nearby apartment complex is supplying water with its own watering system.

Seongdong-gu Office is investigating the exact cause of the accident, assuming that equipment at the nearby Dongbuk Line Urban Railway construction site collided with the water supply pipe and ruptured.
