Electricity supply was once cut off in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, resulting in congestion on the way home from work.

According to Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and Korea Electric Power Corporation, at around 5:25 pm today (13th), a transformer installed on a telephone pole near Yeoksam-dong exploded and electricity supply was cut off in the area.

Due to power outages, nearby traffic lights stopped working, and traffic police came out and gave hand signals, and congestion continued for a while.

In addition, 12 occupants were trapped in the building's elevator and were rescued by the fire department.

Fortunately, KEPCO completed the restoration work in about an hour and a half and resumed electricity supply.

KEPCO plans to determine the exact cause of the accident.
