A mother in her 20s who killed her 4-year-old daughter after abusing and assaulting her for a long time has been arrested.

Shortly before her death, the child was reported to have lost sight due to severe malnutrition.

On the 12th, the Busan District Prosecutor's Office's Women's Child Crime Investigation Department (Chief Prosecutor Choi Mi-hwa) announced on the 12th that it had arrested and indicted her mother A on charges of violating the Child Abuse Punishment Act (child abuse and murder) and violation of the Child Welfare Act (recurrent child abuse).

Mr. A is accused of assaulting her face and body several times because her daughter did not listen to her at her home in Geumjeong-gu, Busan after returning home from work on December 14th of last year at around 6 am. receive.

The reason for the assault was that Miss B, who was hungry, was angry at the word 'give me food'.

After the assault, Ms. B's condition worsened, and Mr. A took her to the hospital at around 7:35 pm that day, but she had already died.

The doctor, who found traces of assault on Miss B's body, reported it to the police, suspecting child abuse.

Accordingly, the court issued an arrest warrant on the 16th of last month, seeing that there was a possibility that Mr. A might escape.

At the time of Ms. B's death, she weighed only 9 to 10 kg, significantly less than her peers, and it was confirmed that her eyesight was lost due to nutritional deficiencies.

An official from the Busan District Prosecutor's Office said, "We will do our best to maintain the prosecution so that Mr. A, who continuously abused and killed a child with weak self-protection, can receive a sentence corresponding to the crime."
