The prosecution has appealed against the first trial probation sentence of composer and businessman Don Spike, who was charged with drug use.

The Seoul Northern District Prosecutor's Office filed an appeal to the court on the grounds of unfair sentencing today (11th).

The prosecution explained the reason for the appeal, saying, "Despite having a history of two homologous drug crimes, he recidivated and the amount of methamphetamine he handled was considerable."

In addition, he argued that "(Don Spike) needs a heavier punishment considering that he made a transaction with an accomplice to receive drugs instead of an accomplice or used an accomplice's deposit account to hide his crime."

On the 9th, the 13th Division of the Criminal Agreement of the Seoul Northern District Court (Presiding Judge Oh Kwon-cheol) sentenced Don Spike, who was arrested and indicted, to 3 years in prison and 5 years probation under the Aggravated Punishment Act for Specific Crimes.

In addition, probation, 120 hours of community service, 80 hours of drug treatment lectures, and an additional fine of 39,857,500 won were ordered.

From the end of 2021, Don Spike was handed over to trial on charges of buying 45 million won worth of methamphetamine on nine occasions and administering methamphetamine a total of 14 times.
