Jeon Joo-hwan (32), who killed a woman he was stalking in the bathroom of Sindang Station, was sentenced to death by the prosecution.

At the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Agreement 25-1 Part (Park Jeong-gil, Dr. Park Jeong-je and chief judge), the prosecution requested the court to "impose the defendant to the death penalty, the highest sentence in the court," at the trial for the decision of Mr. Jeon's retaliatory murder case under the Aggravated Punishment Act for Specific Crimes I did.

It also requested a 30-year positioning electronics attachment order.

Prosecutors pointed out that the possibility of Jeon's recidivism is high, saying, "If the accused feels anger toward others, he is very likely to fall into egocentric thinking and choose an extreme form of crime such as murder."

He added, "Even if the sentencing standards for the death penalty are strictly interpreted, it is inevitable to impose the heaviest sentence on the accused to hold them accountable and prevent the same crime."

On the night of September 14 last year, Mr. Jeon was arrested and indicted for killing a victim with a weapon while stalking in the women's bathroom at Sindang Station on Seoul Subway Line 2.

It was investigated that Mr. Jeon committed a retaliatory crime a day before the sentence when a heavy sentence was expected in a stalking case that was previously charged with a report by a victim.

In the first trial of the stalking crime held after the victim's death, he was sentenced to 9 years in prison, and both the prosecution and Mr. Jeon appealed, and the appeal is in progress at the Seoul High Court.
