The information of 180,000 LG U+ customers was leaked, and the police are investigating how it was leaked.



LG U+ announced on its homepage today (10th), "We are aware that some customers' personal information has been leaked," and "Please be aware that valuable information may be used inappropriately."



LG U+ said that the number of customers whose personal information was leaked was 180,000.



The leaked information differs from person to person, but LG Uplus explained that it included names, dates of birth, and phone numbers, and that financial information related to payment was not leaked.



It was on the 2nd that the information leak was recognized, and LG U+ requested an investigation to the police cyber investigation team and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) the next day.



Regarding the fact that there was a gap of about a week between the discovery of the leak and the disclosure, an official from LG Uplus explained, "It took time to confirm the unclear data and identify the customer."



The company notifies each individual whose information was leaked via text message or e-mail.
