We recently reported on a case involving a landlord who died in Jeju while owning hundreds of villas.

The police said that the rental company was the so-called "pants boss" and that they were investigating a consulting company that was the actual owner behind it.

In July 2021, Mr. Jung Mo, a renter who suddenly died in Jeju, where there was no connection.



Until his death, Mr. Jeong owned about 240 villas and officetels in Yangcheon-gu and Gangseo-gu, Seoul.



Among them, only 35 houses are covered by deposit guarantee insurance.



Most tenants never got their deposits back.

] An electronic signature in Mr. Jeong's name was found, and it was also found that the agent carried a power of attorney and proceeded with the rental contract.



The police started tracking Jung after seeing that he was just the so-called 'pants boss' and that there was a separate owner behind it.



The investigation revealed the outline of a professional charter scammer.



An official from the National Police Agency said that the actual landlord seems to be a consulting company, not Mr. Jeong, and is the "king of villas" in Daegu.



It has also been revealed that consulting firms have divided their roles, such as those in charge of sales and those in charge of tenants, and have established brokerage firms for the purpose of obtaining commissions.



On the 5th, the police applied for a preliminary arrest warrant for key officials in the company.
