Those planning to go out this weekend should be careful.

Dense ultrafine dust covered the country.

Following fine dust emergency reduction measures in most areas of the country, yellow dust will be added from today (7th).

Yesterday afternoon, the city center of Busan was surrounded by white dust so that only the shape of the buildings could be seen.

Ultrafine dust warnings have been issued not only in Busan, but also in Honam, Chungcheong, and the metropolitan area across the country.

This is because fine dust from China and fine dust from Korea are accumulating together as the atmospheric flow is stagnant due to the influence of high pressure.

The daily average concentration of ultrafine dust soared from 11 micrograms per cubic meter on the last two days to 69 micrograms yesterday.

Accordingly, the emergency reduction measures issued in Busan and Ulsan yesterday were extended to all regions nationwide except for Yeongdong, Gangwon this morning.

As of 5 am, the level of ultrafine dust is 98 micrograms in Seoul and 151 micrograms in Daejeon.

When emergency reduction measures are issued, construction sites and waste disposal sites must adjust their working hours.

In particular, from today, as yellow dust from the Gobi Desert in China arrives on the Korean Peninsula, air quality is expected to deteriorate further.

[Lee Seung-beop/National Institute of Environmental Research Forecaster: (During the weekend) the atmosphere is stagnant and the fine dust concentration is expected to be high in all regions due to the influence of yellow dust.]

High concentrations of fine dust are predicted to continue until the middle of next week.

It is recommended that children, the elderly, and respiratory patients refrain from going out, and wear a KF80 or higher health mask when going out inevitably.
