A man in his 20s who broke into a store in a traditional market, stole tens of millions of won worth of money and ran away, was caught in Seoul after about a month of police pursuit. 



The Busan Sasang Police Station announced today (4th) that it has arrested Mr. A in his 20s on charges of stealing 37 million won worth of Onnuri gift certificates from a traditional market (theft under the Aggravated Punishment Act for Specific Crimes).



Mr. A entered a shop in a traditional market in Sasang-gu, Busan, which was not locked at around 11:15 pm on December 3 last year, and stole 3,700 Onnuri gift certificates worth 10,000 won and ran away.

The store owner noticed the theft and called the police.



On the 2nd, the police, who had been reporting and conducting a follow-up investigation, confirmed that Mr. A was in a PC room in Seoul, and arrested him in cooperation with the district police department.



It was revealed that Mr. A had spent most of his stolen gift certificates on living and entertainment expenses after converting them into cash.



The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the exact motive for the crime against Mr. A.



Meanwhile, it is known that Mr. A has previously been arrested several times for committing crimes such as theft.
