Yesterday (3rd), the number of passengers who entered the country through Incheon International Airport increased by 85 to 1,137.

Among them, 281 were classified as short-term foreigners and received PCR tests at the airport, and 73 were confirmed.

The positive rate is 26%, 1 in 4 people, which is higher than the first day positive rate of 20.4%.

It is expected that the number will rise further if the results of examinations at local public health centers are counted within one day of arrival for Koreans and long-term residents.

Since last month, the proportion of confirmed cases from China among imported cases has increased, and in the recent week, it has risen to 41.9%.

With the mandatory inspection of entrants from China, the number of confirmed cases imported from abroad has also increased.

More than 100 people increased in one day, and as of 0:00 today, 172 people, the highest in 94 days.

Of these, 76% were from China.

From tomorrow, it will be compulsory for travelers arriving from China to submit PCR within 48 hours before boarding, or a negative confirmation of rapid antigen test by medical staff within 24 hours.

From the weekend, arrivals from Hong Kong and Macau must also bring a negative certificate to board the flight.

[Lim Sook-young/Chief of Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters: We investigate whether all the contents of the PCR confirmation form are properly written at the quarantine station, and we investigate at the quarantine stage to see if these are inappropriate.] For

confirmed cases from China, domestic Only BA.5, BF.7, and BN.1 mutations that were already circulating were detected.
