An accident occurred in which a car driven by an unlicensed teenager hit and killed a passerby on the road.
According to the Chungcheongnam-do Fire Headquarters and Gongju Police Station today (4th), at 9:34 am yesterday, A (16) driving a K3 vehicle on the road in front of the intercity bus terminal in Shingwan-dong, Gongju-si, ran into B (25) crossing the crosswalk.
As a result of the accident, Mr. B was taken to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest and eventually died.
Group A was also reported to have been seriously injured.
At the time of the accident, the car driven by group A hit Mr. B and then rushed to the sidewalk, crashed into a traffic light pole and stopped.
As a result of the police investigation, it was revealed that Group A, who is unlicensed, caused the accident after renting a vehicle through a vehicle sharing platform using the name of an acquaintance.
The police are investigating and prosecuting Group A on charges such as manslaughter under the Special Traffic Accident Act, while sending the vehicle's data recording device (EDR) to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to investigate speeding driving.
