A citizen who claimed to have set a record for the top spot in the region with more than 10,000 illegal parking reports appeared, sparking controversy among netizens.
Yesterday (3rd), a post with several photos was posted on an online community with the caption, "Received 700,000 won in local gift certificates for being the 1st in the illegal parking report area."
In the post, author A revealed a bundle of thick local gift certificates and claimed, "The head of the district office asked me to stop reporting, so I took first place even after taking a break for a few months."
In addition, looking at the captured screen of the 'Report Processing Status' of Safety Sinmungo, which was also released, the number of civil complaints reported by Mr. A reached 11,651, and 11,642 of them were answered.
If you look at the screenshot, you can see that 1 report is still in progress, and 8 cases have been withdrawn.

Netizens who saw Mr. A's authentication post showed various reactions.
Many netizens responded, "There are so many illegal parkings," "Why don't you give them a model citizen award?" And, I feel sorry for the public officials who will receive objections," "It's too much," and "I'm not reporting it because I've been harmed, but I'm just doing it to make fun of it."
Meanwhile, fines for illegal parking are 50,000 won for vans and 40,000 won for passenger cars, and 10,000 won will be added for parking for more than 2 hours in the same place.
If a penalty is imposed and paid within the notice period, a 20% reduction is applied, but if it is not paid within 60 days, an additional 3% penalty will be added from the next day.
