A Chinese man in his 40s who entered Incheon International Airport refused to be quarantined at a hotel after being confirmed with COVID-19, and the police began tracking him.

According to the Incheon Police Agency and others, yesterday (3rd) around 10:07 pm, a Chinese man A (41) refused to be quarantined due to Corona 19 and ran away near a hotel in Yeongjong Island, Jung-gu, Incheon.

He was tested positive for Corona 19 after entering Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 on a passenger plane departing from China, and was scheduled to be quarantined at the hotel, a temporary living facility.

As a result of the police checking the closed-circuit TV around the hotel, it was confirmed that Mr. A had moved to a large mart in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu early in the morning, but the route after that has not yet been revealed.

If the police arrest Mr. A, he will be investigated for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.

The government is implementing strengthened quarantine measures such as short-term visa restrictions and inspections before and after entry to prevent the influx of confirmed cases from China, where the COVID-19 has recently spread rapidly.
