It is early morning when people are cut off.

The end of the pedestrian overpass is suddenly cut off, and the middle part sinks downward.

As if an earthquake had occurred, the overpass, 2.5m wide and 105m long, collapsed helplessly.

Originally, it was an arched overpass that was convex upwards, but as it slid downwards, it became the exact opposite shape.

The accident happened at around 0:50 am this morning, fortunately there were no pedestrians, so there were no casualties.

As the overpass collapsed, all walkways under it were controlled.

Citizens who passed by the road turned to the long way than usual.

The pedestrian road connecting Dorim-dong and Sindorim Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu was blocked, causing great inconvenience to citizens.

[Kim Gil-soon/Silim-dong, Seoul: I have to commute, but where do I go now.

It's about 10 minutes because it's a bicycle (it takes more.)]

The overpass was opened in 2016, and residents say they felt abnormal signs a few days ago.

[Pyongnam Cho / Guro-dong, Seoul: It seemed to shake a little strangely once.

Like a swinging bridge...

.

It's been ten days, I guess.]

It was confirmed that three days ago, a resident also put a complaint in the National Newspaper that 'the leg seems to be bent'.

An official from the district office explained, "It was the afternoon before the accident when the complaint arrived, so there was no time to look into it."

Seoul City and Yeongdeungpo-gu plan to install supports on the overpass tomorrow and investigate the cause of the accident, leaving open the possibility of structural changes or design problems due to temperature changes in winter.
