Controversy is brewing as daycare teachers were caught drinking at a bar with a 23-month-old child during working hours.

According to a Yonhap News report, A, a working mother living in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, received a text message from the director of the daycare center at 5:47 pm on the 27th.

She was leaving daycare with the child and would be nearby, so when she arrived she wanted to be in touch.

When Mr. A moved to her daycare center at around 6:40 pm, her director and five daycare teachers were eating draft beer and chicken at a nearby bar with their 23-month-old child.

Originally, Mr. A's child was enrolled in an extended daycare center, so she was supposed to be in the daycare center until 7:30pm, but it is estimated that she was at the bar for at least an hour.

According to Mr. A, at the bar at the time, daycare teachers sat her child next to them and enjoyed drinking and snacks in a friendly atmosphere.

At the time of her discovery, Mr. A was angry, but she returned to the reference house and called her director to complain, but the answer returned was an excuse and the director protested to the effect that there was nothing wrong with it.

The director of the daycare center said, "I was going to come to eat chicken with the teacher, but the child's mother seemed to be in a bad mood after seeing the glass of wine." The turnaround has happened and I am embarrassed.”

In the end, Mr. A reported the above to the district office and the police, and also posted on various online communities.

The district office decided to conduct an on-site investigation, and it was reported that the daycare teacher violated the service regulations because he did not keep working hours, and whether additional punishment will be considered according to the Infant Protection Act or the Child Welfare Act.

If daycare centers are found to be in violation of the law, penalties such as withdrawal of subsidies, suspension of operations, suspension of qualifications, fines, and corrective orders are also possible.

The police also filed a case and launched an investigation.

On the 30th of last month, Mr. A said through an online community, "I decided to stop attending the current daycare center, and I am going to look for another daycare center after telling the company about the situation and taking a leave of absence."

At the same time, he appealed, "I know that daycare teachers are having a hard time, but I hope they take care of their children with a responsible attitude."

Netizens who heard the above story responded critically, such as "The greatest nursery school incident", "It feels like a report", "Drunk even after leaving the workplace", "What if I get drunk and get into trouble".
