On the first day of the new year of 2023, the year of the black rabbit, the triplets were born in Gwangju.
According to Chonnam National University Hospital, 36-year-old mother Kim Mi-jin gave birth to triplets Kim Seo-joon (male), Seo-ah (female), and Seo-jin (male) in the operating room at Chonnam National University Hospital at 0:00 today (the 1st).
The children were born weighing 1.88 kg, 1.9 kg, and 1.89 kg, respectively, and were transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit through an incubator immediately after birth.
Mother Kim was pregnant with triplets through an in vitro procedure in May of last year, and as she was classified as a high-risk mother, she received midwifery pain treatment at the hospital for a total of 49 days until the day of delivery.
Mr. Kim said, "All three are healthy, born on the first day of the new year, so happy and heartbreaking."
