Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) announced that it provided emergency support to SR for the formation of KTX 2 in connection with the Suseo High-Speed ​​Railroad (SRT) electricity supply failure.



In the aftermath of yesterday (30th), 167 high-speed trains were delayed for up to 2 hours and 10 minutes, and some SRT trains were suspended today due to vehicle breakdowns presumed to be affected by the accident.



KTX is operating normally.



An official from KORAIL said, "The failure of the electric supply line and the breakdown of the vehicle occurred at the place where repair work was carried out due to water leakage in the crack in the Tongbok tunnel near Jije Station in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do on the Suseo High-speed Line." We are assuming that it happened," he said.



He continued, "The electrical supply line failure was repaired at 11:13 last night, but we are currently investigating the cause of the vehicle breakdown with the manufacturer from various angles."
