Starting tomorrow (2nd), everyone entering the country by air or ship from China must undergo a corona PCR test.

The issuance of short-term visas for tourists is also suspended, and all entrants must register in the quarantine information pre-entry system.

According to the quarantine measures announced the day before yesterday, the government will take these quarantine measures for entrants from China from tomorrow to the end of next month.

Short-term foreigners coming from China must undergo a PCR test upon arrival and wait in a separate room until the test results are confirmed.

Koreans or long-term foreigners must undergo an examination at the local public health center within one day of arrival and then wait at home until the test results are available.

The government sets up temporary home facilities in cities and provinces across the country to manage foreign confirmed cases during short-term stays.

If confirmed at the airport entry stage, you will be quarantined in a separate temporary accommodation facility.

When boarding an aircraft, you must register your domestic address and contact information in the quarantine information pre-entry system and Q code.

The government plans to share the information obtained in this way with local governments and use it for management after entry.

Domestic stopovers for flights departing from China will be unified from Incheon, Gimhae, Daegu, and Jeju to Incheon.

In the case of Jeju, tourists can enter without a visa, but due to this measure, the China-Jeju route will be suspended.

These measures also apply to disembarking passengers entering Korea by sea from China.

Chinese passenger ships can now arrive at 36 ports across the country.

Quarantine authorities are planning to require pre-entry test results for entrants from China, but delayed the implementation by three days in consideration of local preparations in China.

As a result, from the 5th, it will be mandatory to submit PCR test results within 48 hours or rapid antigen test results for experts within 24 hours for all domestic and foreign passengers boarding domestic flights from China.

However, exceptions are allowed for humanitarian purposes such as attending funerals, public officials traveling abroad, infants and toddlers under the age of 6, and within 40 days after 10 days from the date of confirmation.

The government also restricts the issuance of short-term visas through diplomatic missions in China from tomorrow until the end of this month.

Visas can be issued for purposes such as diplomatic/official affairs, essential business operations, and humanitarian reasons, but tourist visas are suspended, and this period may be extended depending on future circumstances.

As the Chinese government eased immigration quarantine measures amid the rapid spread of Corona 19 in China, the government took these quarantine measures to prevent the influx of confirmed patients into the country.

Among the confirmed cases imported from abroad, the number of arrivals from China was 19 in November of last year, but in December, the number is rapidly increasing, recording 278 by the 29th.

Due to the possibility of new mutations appearing due to the rapid increase in confirmed cases in China, quarantine authorities are conducting genome sequencing analysis on cases that have been confirmed after arriving from China.
