Military "Do not invade the North Korean UAV restricted area"... denial of the opposition

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said that a North Korean drone that invaded the airspace three days ago and infiltrated the airspace over Seoul did not invade the no-fly zone set up around the presidential office.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced to the media that day, "We inform you that the enemy drone did not invade the no-fly zone (P-73)."

P-37 is an area with a radius of 3.7 km centered on the Ministry of National Defense building, and includes not only the presidential office area, but also Seoul City Hall, Jung-gu, Namsan, and parts of Seocho and Dongjak-gu.

The announcement by the Joint Chiefs of Staff is intended to explain the claims of opposition lawmakers that there is a high possibility that North Korean drones have invaded the no-fly zone in Seoul.

Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Byung-ju appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the morning of the 29th and said, "Looking at the flight trajectory reported by the Joint Chiefs of Staff yesterday, it seems that it has come and gone to Eunpyeong-gu, Jongno, Dongdaemun-gu, Gwangjin-gu, and Namsan." The 3.7km radius from Yongsan (where the presidential office is located) is a no-fly zone. It is highly likely that they passed through it."

Regarding Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop's remark that the drone did not come to Yongsan at the National Assembly Defense Committee's urgent question the day before, Rep. Kim said, "It should not be viewed from the perspective of whether (the drone) came to Yongsan or not." If it came in, it would be a failure of the security operation."

Rep. Kim is from a general who served as deputy commander of the ROK-US Combined Forces Command.

At the National Assembly National Defense Committee the day before, opposition lawmakers raised the possibility that the drone had invaded not only Eunpyeong-gu, Seodaemun-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Gwangjin-gu, Jungnang-gu, and Jung-gu, but also the entirety of Yongsan, based on the North Korean drone's track chart over Seoul submitted by the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
