As China lifts restrictions on overseas travel from the 8th of next month, the number of arrivals from China is expected to increase significantly in Korea.

Accordingly, the government is announcing quarantine measures for entrants from China today (30th).

It is said that they are considering conducting PCR tests twice before and after entry.

Yesterday, at the National Infectious Disease Crisis Response Advisory Committee, a number of experts are known to have demanded strong quarantine, which is to inspect entrants from China twice before and after entry.

It is a method of compulsory testing two days before departure, quarantined for one day after arrival, and released if the test is negative.

This is a reflection of our proximity to China and the fact that we had a lot of exchanges even before the corona virus.

The strong plan was also discussed as the proportion of confirmed cases from China among imported cases increased from 0.4% in the first week of December to 29.4% in the fourth week.

It is judged that it is not enough to strengthen the fever standard of entrants from China from 37.5 to 37.3 degrees and to test all mutations when confirmed.

The fact that corona information in China is limited, there are many asymptomatic infections, and there is a great concern about mutation was also considered.

[Jeong Ki-seok/National Infectious Disease Crisis Response Advisory Committee: Because China has so many explosive patients.

If you manage it intensively for a very short period of time, can't you prepare for mutation concerns or mass virus influx?]

If a new and powerful mutant virus is identified, plans to ease indoor masks as early as next month could be disrupted.

At the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting at 10:00 am today, the government will gather opinions from each department and finalize and announce the quarantine plan.
