night (29th), 2 people died and 5 people were injured in a chain collision accident near the Seonsan Rest Area on the Central Inland Expressway where a truck collided with 4 vehicles.

All were workers preparing for night road work.

A work vehicle is lying on its side in the middle of the road, and a 14-ton truck is also standing still.



Around 11:00 last night, a 14-ton cargo truck running on the road near the Seonsan Rest Area in the direction of Yangpyeong on the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway collided with two 2.5-ton trucks and a 1-ton truck preparing for night road work.



After that, the vehicle was thrown out and collided with a taxi in front.



Immediately after the accident, a fire broke out at the front of the 14-ton truck.



A man in his 30s and a man in his 20s died in the accident, two were seriously injured and three were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.



These were all workers preparing for road work.

As the road was closed to deal with the accident, traffic congestion occurred for 2 hours.



The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident by securing eyewitness statements and CCTV near the accident site.

At around 6:20 pm last night, a fire broke out in an apartment building in Yongam-dong, Sangdang-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, and it was extinguished in 20 minutes.



A 61-year-old man in the house inhaled smoke and was taken to the hospital, and about 40 residents were evacuated.
