The manager of a Chinese restaurant, who has been identified as a key figure in the suspicion of the so-called Chinese secret police, has made an explanation for the first time since the controversy.

In the meantime, he insisted that the restaurant was operating normally, but he announced that he would hold a briefing session tomorrow (31st) for 30,000 won each.

This is reporter Kim Ah-young.

This is the first official explanation from the restaurant's manager, Wang Haijun, who has been at the center of the controversy since suspicions of China's so-called secret police station were raised.

[Wang Haijun/Oriental Pearl Manager: (Chinese restaurant) Oriental Pearl was a normal business place, but after the incident, it was on the cutting board.

It is unreasonable to apply pressure and obstruction for no reason.]

While introducing himself as a public figure who has lived in Korea for nearly 20 years, Mr. Wang virtually denied any suspicions that he was involved with the secret police department.

He said that while serving as the president of the Association of Korean Residents in Korea, he also serves as the director of the Seoul Flower & Bird Center.

The Flower and Bird Center is a group that Safeguard Defenders, an overseas human rights group, pointed out as a link when raising suspicions about the Chinese secret police.

Instead of giving a specific refutation, Mr. Wang announced that he would receive 30,000 won each tomorrow and hold a briefing session to clarify the truth.

After a 20-minute press conference, as you can see, the phrase pro-US forces versus pro-China forces was displayed on the electronic signboard.

The Chinese embassy in Korea maintains the position that China's overseas secret police department does not exist, but this press conference was held in Wang's personal name.
