It was belatedly known that the virtual currency account of Nexon founder Jeong-ju Kim, who passed away in the United States in February, was hacked and 8.5 billion won worth of virtual currency was stolen.

Last month, the Seoul Eastern District Court sentenced a 39-year-old surnamed Jang to six years in prison for stealing money by hacking former chairman Kim's account.

In May, Mr. Jang was handed over to trial on charges of transferring 8.5 billion won worth of virtual currency, such as bitcoin and ethereum, from former chairman Kim's account to another account.

Jang, a member of a hacking criminal organization, is known to have infiltrated the account of former chairman Kim, which was opened in the virtual currency exchange 'Corbit', by illegally copying a SIM.

They received personal information from the gunman and continued the crime, but it is known that the gunman has not yet been arrested.

Suspicious that the transaction occurred in the account of the deceased former chairman Kim, Korbit informed the investigative agency, and Jang, who was caught, was handed over to trial in September.
