[Yongsan Park in front

of the Presidential Office will open around May next year] Yongsan Park in front of the Presidential Office in Yongsan is expected to open to the general public around May next year.

The government secures a budget of 22.7 billion won to transform the land returned from the USFK into a national park and uses it to create the park.

[Official opening set for a year after the trial opening of the

Yongsan Park site in June of this year] In about a year after the trial opening of the Yongsan Park site in front of the President's Office in June of this year, the park is officially set to be established and opened.

[ Lawn plaza, sports facility, playground, etc. will be built ] The

government plans to build a lawn plaza, sports facility, playground, and convenience facilities for citizens in the former US military residence, school, and baseball field.

Once the park is open, citizens will be able to use the park entrance near Sinyongsan Station to access Yongsan Park, where the President's Office can be seen.

The presidential office previously announced that it would make the office a place of communication where people can directly see and take pictures by installing a fence in the park in a perspective view while relocating the office to Yongsan.

Regarding the pollution problem of the site returned by the US military, the government said that the risk was significantly low as a result of precise measurements, and that in some areas, along with pollution reduction measures, buffer measures were taken by planting grass and trees.
