The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) announced that the Han River was frozen for the first time this winter.



The observation point near the pier of the Hangang Bridge connecting Yongsan-gu and Dongjak-gu in Seoul was covered with ice.



It is analyzed that the severe cold weather, with the lowest temperature going down to 10 degrees below zero, continued for several days, and the freezing began while the highest temperature during the day stayed below freezing.

Korea Meteorological Administration announced that this year's freezing phenomenon was observed 16 days earlier than normal and 15 days earlier than the previous winter.
