Former Channel A reporter Lee Dong-jae has partially won a lawsuit against Democratic Party lawmaker Choi Kang-wook for compensation for damages worth billions of won.

Today (23rd), the 25th division of the civil agreement of the Seoul Central District Court announced that Congressman Choi should compensate the former reporter for 3 million won.

In addition, he said, "From April 3, 2020 to today, pay 5% per annum and 12% per annum from the next day to the day it is paid off."

This former reporter has claimed that Congressman Choi posted a post containing false facts related to the so-called 'Channel A incident' on social media ahead of the 2020 general election.

In April 2020, Rep. Choi posted an article on his Facebook page titled 'Channel A reporter's remarks in letters and transcripts' and said, "Former reporter said, 'CEO Lee (CEO Lee Chul VIK) Even if it is not true, It's good. If you want to live, say that you gave money to Ryu Si-min."

The former reporter originally requested compensation of 50 million won from Congressman Choi, but later expanded the claim to 200 million won.

Immediately after the trial, former reporter Lee said, "It is very regrettable that Congressman Choi is still showing an attitude of disapproval."
