Today (23rd) at around 6:24 am, a fire broke out on the track in the tunnel between Muakjae Station and Dongnimmun Station on Seoul Subway Line 3, and the fire department is suppressing it.



Due to this fire, train service in both directions between Yaksu Station and Gupabal Station on Subway Line 3 has been suspended for over an hour.



According to the fire department, as of 7:50 am today, smoke and flames have been caught in the final stage of extinguishing the fire.



The Seoul Metropolitan Government sent a text message asking them to use other means of transportation.



As subway service is suspended, citizens on their way to work are experiencing great inconvenience.



Online, comments such as "I got off the subway in the middle and took a taxi, but I think I'll be late" and "My colleagues all took Line 3, but everyone was upset," etc., complaining of inconvenience.



Seoul Transportation Corporation, which operates subway line 3, said, "We are doing our best to recover from the accident by immediately forming an on-site response team."
