Today (21st), when a heavy snowfall warning was issued in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do, some trains on the Gimpo Metro Line were stuck at the depot due to heavy snowfall, causing inconvenience to passengers.

According to the Gimpo Gold Line, 5 trains (10 cars) at the Yangchon Station Depot at around 6:51 a.m., the rush hour today, could not be put on the line due to snow on the outdoor track.

As a result, the number of trains operating on the route was reduced from 21 to 16, and the interval between trains was increased from 3 minutes and 30 seconds to 4 minutes.

Passengers continue to flow to all 10 stations, but delayed train arrivals are causing inconvenience.

In particular, Pung Trade was found to be the most inconvenient place, with platforms full of passengers and waiting lines leading to the connected passageways.

At Gimpo Airport Station, a woman who was riding in a crowded train at around 8:10 am complained of shortness of breath and was taken to a nearby hospital by the 119 ambulance.

Passenger Mr. Hong Mo, in his 40s, said, "I came to Poong Trade, but I have been waiting for an hour as the train arrived late."

Gimpo Gold Line is working on snow removal on the outdoor tracks of the vehicle depot at Yangchon Station, and is preparing for safety accidents by distributing employees to each station to control passenger movement.

An official from the Gimpo Gold Line said, "At around 8:45 am, one train, which was stuck at the vehicle depot, was put into the line."

The Gimpo Urban Railway is a completely unmanned train that travels from the Han River New Town to Gimpo Airport Station on Seoul Subway Line 9 for a total of 23.67 km, with an average of 68,000 passengers per day.
