A man in his 70s who visited the victims again was eventually sentenced to prison despite being stalked by residents living in the same apartment building and receiving a restraining order from the court.

Daegu District Court Pohang Branch Detective 3 Single (Judge Kim Bae-hyun) sentenced Mr. A in his 70s, who was charged with violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes, to 1 year and 6 months in prison today (20th) and completed a 40-hour stalking crime treatment program commanded.

Previously, Mr. A was reported while stalking women in their 20s and 50s, residents of the apartment where they live.

He was accused of making a fuss five times over 20 days, including visiting the victim's house at around 2 am on July 12 and kicking the door, demanding "to reveal who reported me to the police."

In response, the Pohang Branch of the Daegu District Court made a provisional decision to "stop the stalking crime and do not approach within 100m of the victim or the residence," to Mr. A, but even after that, Mr. A's crime did not stop.

Between July and October, Mr. A visited the victims' homes and rang the doorbell, saying, "I came to apologize," or made a fuss from the apartment flower bed toward the victim's house, saying, "You reported it."

To Mr. A, who eventually stood in court, the judge said, "The crime of stalking is very psychological and anxiety experienced by the victim, and in particular, crimes from neighbors like this case can make daily life more difficult, so it is necessary to be severely punished." explained.

In addition, it pointed out that "the accused not only stalked, but also violated provisional measures several times, and the victims petitioned for strict punishment.

" However, "we took into account various circumstances, such as being elderly and having no prison history." The reason for the high sentence was revealed.
